I am a human…
My name is “Omid Golbasi” and some also know me as “Al Van Doom”.
I am a musician from the beautiful south of Germany and try to make a living by also making (good sophisticated) AI music next to my “analog” regular music projects. Mainly Disco Robotics” and (soon!) “Klangeswillen”.
I don’t just push a button and the AI pops out a finished track, I use AI as a tool for producing with instruments and “artists” I could never afford to produce but since I myself am an avid music connoisseur, I make the music (made possible by AI) I myself would like to hear.
…making AI music (as a musician)…
My creativity on this endeavor is not to compose melodies and chords, moving around notes as I do with my regular bands, here my creativity lies in the prompting in such a detail to really really capture the essence of desired music style.
Also I write all the lyrics in English (mostly) and German.
I design the “record covers”, I give the tracks their titles and often times I enhance the sound by pulling it into my Apple Logic Pro and mix it with my original made sound ideas.
I think of my songs not as “AI slob” but another opportunity for an artist and musician like me to let even more creativity out to the world.
